I taught myself the basics of programming in Java, to start my transition to software engineering, motivated by a desire for more flexibility and a better work-life balance, especially as a mother. I was helpfully mentored in that transition, and now I want to empower others to pursue a career in tech, as one that can provide financial stability, as well as future prospects and benefits to families and communities. I am excited about my continued learning at FiftyEight, especially in areas like AI, and I am inspired by the way our technological developments can be used by workers to help them avoid situations where they are made vulnerable by their lack of knowledge.”
