Overall aim and purpose: Just Good Work is an integral part of the UK Seasonal Worker Scheme to help protect workers from hidden exploitation risks during recruitment and on farm, and make sure they have a positive experience when working in UK agriculture and horticulture so that they wish to return next season. To provide scheme-wide communication to and insight from workers throughout their recruitment and employment, enabling faster decision making on what is or isn’t working, reducing duplication and simplifying the experience for workers and all scheme stakeholders.

Key Insights from Questions to UK Users:

➔ The target reach for UK Users and Work Code Users was achieved with 16,561 UK users (target 14,400 or 50% of expected visas issued) and 11,388 Work Code Users (target 10,000 or 35% of expected visas issued, adjusted for the 4 supporting sponsors).
➔ Work Code users have more than doubled vs 2024, meaning more workers than ever are accessing the most relevant and accurate information once approved for the scheme.
➔ The aim is that all scheme stakeholders benefit from workers having consistent information in their own language. Supporting operators in 2025 were AGRI-HR, Concordia, Fruitful Jobs and Pro-Force. HOPS have chosen not to share or support JGW, so the app was not scheme-wide.
➔ Active users were lower overall, reflecting a higher number of returnees on the scheme, as well as more targeted recruitment activity from sponsors.
➔ Users in the UK primarily sought information about accommodation, pay, transportation, everyday life and how to change jobs.
➔ Users in their home country used the app as part of looking for a job or as part of their application and pre-departure orientation to help prevent exploitation through avoiding scams and better prepare them for what to expect.
➔ The majority of workers who responded to questions had a positive experience of the scheme during recruitment and their time in the UK. 89% of respondents told us their recruitment process gave them a good understanding of the work they would be doing on the farm.
➔ 35% of respondents told us they had been asked to make payments for things other than the cost of their visa or travel.
➔ Some areas of treatment by management also warrant further attention, with 25% of workers saying they have been told raising concerns can result in dismissal or not being able to return.
“All of these information were new for me and I was glad to be knowledgeable about them. Thank you for making such an app to help us.”
