Studying history and literature has allowed me to see the many ways people have found meaning, shaped identities, and built communities. One way people do these is through their work. For me, doing good work isn’t just about chasing deadlines or delivering products, it’s also about making a difference in people’s everyday lives. It is no surprise that history has many instances where workers, especially migrant workers, are exploited. To know that we are somehow making a difference now and helping people find and do good work is what gets me up in the morning. I am excited to be joining the FiftyEight team and have been so thankful for the growth, constant learning, and warmth the team has!
