Quintin is MBA qualified, with extensive modern slavery consultancy and research expertise with companies, governments and civil society.

Quintin has strong cross-cultural perspective from his work in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Pacific with a community development NGO. In 1998 Quintin co-founded Maxnet, one of New Zealand’s fastest growing tech firms – an award-winning ISP, Data Centre and IT Solutions provider. He co-founded FiftyEight with Angela in 2014.

Growing up, my mum worked for a charity in South Asia, so I got see some diverse working conditions. It inspired me to find ways of improving people’s quality of life through good work where there wasn’t enough. Then in 2003, my wife Angela gave me a National Geographic article on Modern Slavery. It opened my eyes to exploitation in the supply chains of companies and something really deep in me wanted to find whatever I could do to address those two challenges. It’s led me to become passionate about seeing business run well, in a way that brings genuine positive impact for everyone connected to it. I’d love to see more and better ways for people and organisations to come together around modern slavery issues– I believe that would have an exponential impact on the speed in which the problems we face could be solved. I’ve learned that you don’t have to have a certain size of business or certain title or certain position of influence to have an impact
