About 10 years ago, walking along a busy highway in Egypt, we came across a little boy asleep on the pavement behind a blanket of wares he had been selling all day. His vulnerability, working the streets alone like that, impacted me like never before. I silently (and rather faithlessly) prayed for the chance to help make things better for children like him. So, a little while later, when FiftyEight was invited to partner with others to identify interventions to combat the worst forms of child labour through the PACE programme, I knew it was the beginning of a significant journey for us.
I am inspired by those who are in it for the long haul- the ones working for deep systemic change. They know they may not get to witness the full impact within their lifetime, but they do it anyway.
