My family emigrated to Germany when I was eight years old as political refugees. We were refused asylum and had to go back to communist Romania a year later. Those experiences influenced my life and what I do now. As an adult, I liked life in Romania- I was successful and happy there. Moving to the UK was a difficult decision to make because I had initially thought I did not want to live anywhere else. I can empathise with people who have to leave their homeland and start in a new place. I try to go home often to visit with friends and family, but I hope I’ll return to Romania after retiring and spend my old age in the Carpathian Mountains. I like doing a good job, I like seeing the results and the numbers work. I like it when a post we have created goes viral and reaches more people than you think it would. You may reach seven thousand people who might mention it to at least one other person and I like knowing that there are those who need that information and find it really helpful.
